Over the last year, Just Eat has gone on an incredible journey in the user experience and design (UX&D) space. We’ve transformed from having one UX designer spread across several cross-functional teams, with the expectation that they would be a UX unicorn; there was no unified approach to UI and UX design or UX research. Now we have a consolidated UX&D organisation with over 30 practitioners within well-defined UI, UX research and UX teams. We’ve gone from a start-up approach to one of a robust enterprise.
And our vision is clear: to become a world-class design organisation whilst creating the world’s greatest food community.
Join us as we tell the story of our journey, where we’ll share some of the more useful lessons (and morals) we learned along the way.
Sandra Gonzalez is the Head of UX & Design at Just Eat, a Pluralsight author and philanthropist. Her design work spans heavily trafficked ecommerce platforms to technology for aiding refugees. Her current focus at Just Eat is how to best interweave product strategy with the design process and framework, as well as inspiring design excellence within her UX&D organisation.
When she’s not designing for the world's greatest food community, Sandra enjoys teaching her children how to design and program, mentoring designers within the London design community and performing Latin American music in pubs and at music festivals.
